Jonathon Welch
With a diverse career spanning 30 years in the music industry, there are not many areas of music that Jonathon Welch hasn't been involved with, and doesn't love! Considered one of the finest tenors of his generation, Jonathon's credits include some 70 roles with most State Opera Companies and Opera Australia. He has performed with some of the world's most highly regarded singers, directors and conductors including Dame Joan Sutherland, k.d.lang, Baz Luhrman, Graeme Murphy, Richard Bonynge, Anne Murray and Jimmy Somerville.

With a deep commitment to the community and youth music education, Jonathon has directed some of Australia's finest community choirs, also creating the Australian Pop Choir, Pop Kidz and the Sydney Street Choir prior to his return to his "hometown" of Melbourne where he has created the Choir of Hard Knocks.

Mark Trevorrow aka Bob Downe
Unequivocally gay since age 13, Trevorrow has developed the flamboyant alter ego "Bob Downe" - a cheesy, safari-suit-wearing lounge singer, from Murwillumbah. The distinction between the two personae is often blurred: Trevorrow and the "Prince of Polyester" both appear at events and host television programs.

Trevorrow has appeared on the Australian series of Good News Week, he has collaborated several times with the Doug Anthony All Stars... appearing in their TV series, DAAS Kapital, and their film The Edinburgh Years. He has also featured in episodes of the sitcom Kath & Kim, as well as hosting the series The Way We Were. Trevorrow is currently a regular fill-in presenter on the Evening Show on 702 ABC Sydney

Jeremy Brennan
After making entry onto the live-music scene in Sydney less than two years ago with his band King Casual, Jeremy is getting ready to unleash a thrilling debut album of freight train grooves and sweet n sour heartache. Mashing rhythmic piano-pop with a powerfully expressive voice, Jeremy Brennan is a songwriter for a new generation. His shoot-from-the-hip devil-growl delivery heralds the arrival of an unmistakeable voice in music, even prompting one reviewer to cry "Dayum, this man can sing!".

Gabriels Big Band
17 musicians... brass, sax & rhythm section.  A BIG sound lead by Denis Langley to vibrate your heart alive!

I just wanted to thank you all for a magnificent night of song and soul at the Basement last night – it was breathtakingly beautiful (and the most alive I’ve felt in ages). Thank you so much for sharing your stories and your songs (and for getting the audience to do our bit, too – it felt so special to be enveloped in your voices as you wandered around between us all….)." - Gabrielle, audience member at The Basement Sept 18

"Thanks so much for including us at the Basement last night.  It was a truly wonderful evening and I know that those that came in my car were chatting all the way back about how the night had made them feel so uplifted and happy.  Comments like, "That's one of the nicest nights I've had in a long time" - Cheryl Ritchie, Aqua Luna

"I felt really privileged to be involved with the mass choir. Don't know if getting teary on stage was the best look, but I couldn't help myself. I am so moved and inspired by the street choir, they're such a great bunch of individuals". - Kathleen Dungey, The Stampadowns
